Directions For Use

General

  1. Urine Off must contact all urine deposits on/within the soiled surface regardless of the depth of the deposit. Different surfaces will require different removal techniques.
  2. Urine Off must remain wet and in contact with the urine deposits long enough for the bio-enzymatic process to complete its work on the urine crystals. (See breakdown process pictured.)
  3. Where urine deposits are heavy, incredibly old, or if other urine odor/stain removal products have been used, more than one Urine Off treatment may be needed.

For best results, please follow these recommended guidelines:

Do:

  1. Check fabrics for colorfastness prior to treatment. Urine Off is mild and safe to use on water-safe surfaces but pre-testing an inconspicuous area is recommended as a precaution.
  2. Use the Urine Off Urine Finder LED Light to locate affected areas, particularly old or dried urine stains.
  3. Saturate the soiled area with Urine Off and allow to air dry. More product may be needed when treating highly absorbent surfaces.

Don’t:

  1. Apply product on pets or people. Urine Off is designed for use on surfaces only.
  2. Use directly on pet litter. This will be ineffective.
  3. Use other cleaners or chemicals of any kind before or in combination with Urine Off. If other chemicals have already been applied, remove all traces and allow the surface to dry completely before applying Urine Off.

  1. Use Urine Off as the primary and only form of urine removal. Do not use other cleaners or chemicals before or in combination with Urine Off.
  2. Soak up as much urine as possible by blotting with paper towels. Do not use your shoe to press down the paper towels, as urine residue on your shoe will track urine scent for several steps. Use your hand to blot (you may prefer to wear protective gloves to do this), dispose of soiled towels, then wash your hands thoroughly.
  3. Apply Urine Off to the affected area, saturating the urine stain and any underlying padding. Urine Off must completely contact the entire urine-soaked area to remove the odor and stain. Ensure that Urine Off soaks through as much as the urine would have originally soaked through.
  4. Allow to air dry.
  5. After urine odor and stain are removed, remove residue by applying a small amount of water to the area and blotting it up with a paper towel. It is important to remove the residue, or the area may attract dirt.

  1. Use the Urine Finder LED Light to help locate surface areas of contamination.
  2. Use Urine Off as the primary and only form of urine removal. Do not use other cleaners or chemicals before or in combination with Urine Off.
  3. Apply Urine Off to the affected area, saturating the urine stain and any underlying padding. NOTE: Initially, the urine stain may darken and the urine odor may intensify while the urine is breaking loose and rising to the surface for removal but will dissipate as Urine Off continues to break down the uric acid crystals.
  4. Urine Off must completely contact the entire urine-soaked area to remove the odor and stain. For soft, absorbent, or porous surfaces, ensure that Urine Off soaks through as much as the urine would have originally soaked through.
  5. Allow to air dry. For particularly old or stubborn stains, saturate the area with Urine Off then cover with plastic wrap/sheeting for 24-48 hours, slowing down evaporation to allow Urine Off more time to work. As Urine Off breaks the uric acid crystals loose from the material, the plastic will also help draw the urine to the surface.
  6. Repeat application on subsequent days until the stain is no longer visible and the odor is completely removed.
  7. After urine odor and stain are removed, remove residue by applying a small amount of water to the area and blotting it up with a paper towel. It is important to remove the residue, or the area may attract dirt.

Carpet

1. Use the Urine Finder LED Light to help locate surface areas of contamination.
  2. Follow the steps outlined above for treating old urine stains.
  3. Once urine odor is satisfactorily removed, then it is acceptable to have the carpet shampooed or steam cleaned again, helping to remove any remaining residue.

Fabric, Clothing, Bed Linens & Towels

  1. Use the Urine Finder LED Light to help locate surface areas of contamination.
  2. Apply Urine Off to fabric, using the “spray” setting on the spray bottle nozzle to saturate the entire affected area where urine may have come in contact. NOTE: Check fabrics for colorfastness prior to treatment. When treating delicate materials such as leather, first consult the item’s manufacturer or the store where you bought the item.
  3. Allow Urine Off to sit for 15-30 minutes before laundering.
  4. For particularly stubborn stains, saturate with Urine Off and place in a plastic bag overnight, slowing down evaporation to allow Urine Off more time to work.

Upholstered Furniture & Mattresses

  1. Use Urine Off as the primary and only form of urine removal. Do not use other cleaners or chemicals before or in combination with Urine Off.
  2. Soak up as much urine as possible by blotting with paper towels. Use your hand to blot (you may prefer to wear protective gloves to do this), dispose of soiled towels, then wash your hands thoroughly.
  3. Apply Urine Off to the affected area, using the “stream” setting on the spray bottle nozzle to saturate the urine stain and the underlying foam padding/filling. Urine Off must completely contact the entire urine-soaked area to remove the odor and stain. NOTE: Check fabrics for colorfastness prior to treatment. 5. Cover the treated area with plastic wrap/sheeting, slowing down evaporation to allow Urine Off more time to work. As Urine Off breaks the uric acid crystals loose from the wood, the plastic will also help draw the urine to the surface.
  6. After 30 minutes, remove plastic covering and blot the floor dry with paper towels, then dispose of soiled towels.
  7. Reapply Urine Off and leave uncovered. The urine will continue to be drawn to the surface. After 30 minutes, blot the floor dry with paper towels, then dispose of soiled towels.
  8. Repeat Step 7 as needed until urine odor and stains are removed. Stains will become lighter and smaller in diameter as urine residue is removed.
  9. Spot-treat stained areas as needed until stains are gone or have ceased to grow lighter, indicating that all urine has been removed.
  10. Allow to air dry.
  11. After final treatment is dry, rinse with water to remove residue, then wipe/mop dry.

Urine Off can remove the urine odor entirely and repeated application of Urine Off can help remove the buildup of dried uric acid crystals. However, Urine Off cannot reverse wood tannin damage caused by uric acid burns. When wood is damaged, refinishing may be necessary. For best results, treat damaged wood with Urine Off prior to any sanding or refinishing to first remove the urine odor and buildup of dried uric acid crystals.

Plywood & OSB Subfloors

  1. Use the Urine Finder LED Light to help locate surface areas of contamination.
  2. Use Urine Off as the primary and only form of urine removal. Do not use other cleaners or chemicals before or in combination with Urine Off.
  3. Make sure the floor is dry.
  4. Sweep floor thoroughly with a broom to remove any loose debris and dirt. Scrape to remove any carpet adhesive or other residue from the surface. Discard collected debris in a trash can/rubbish bin. NOTE: We recommend against vacuuming the area, as it can contaminate your vacuum with urine and create unintended problems.
  5. Apply Urine Off to the affected area, using the “stream” setting on the spray bottle nozzle to saturate the urine stain. NOTE: Initially, the urine stain may darken and the urine odor may intensify while the urine is breaking loose and rising to the surface for removal but will dissipate as Urine Off continues to break down the uric acid crystals.
  6. Urine Off must completely contact the entire urine-soaked area to remove the odor and stain.
  7. Cover the treated area with plastic wrap/sheeting, slowing down evaporation to allow Urine Off more time to work and soak deeper into the porous surface. As Urine Off breaks the uric acid crystals loose from the material, the plastic will also help draw the urine to the surface.
  8. After 30 minutes, remove plastic covering and blot the floor dry with paper towels, then dispose of soiled towels.
  9. Reapply Urine Off and leave uncovered. The urine will continue to be drawn to the surface. Allow 1-2 hours for Urine Off to dry. Drying may take longer in more humid climates/conditions.
  10. Repeat Step 9 as needed until urine odor and stains are removed. Stains will become lighter and smaller in diameter as urine residue is removed.
  11. Allow final treatment to dry before installing new carpeting or flooring.

Concrete Floors, Marble, Unglazed Tile, Unsealed Grout & Other Porous Hard Surfaces

  1. Use the Urine Finder LED Light to help locate surface areas of contamination.
  2. Use Urine Off as the primary and only form of urine removal. Do not use other cleaners or chemicals before or in combination with Urine Off.
  3. Make sure the floor is dry. Soak up any fresh urine deposits as much as possible by blotting with paper towels. Do not use your shoe to press down the paper towels, as urine residue on your shoe will track urine scent for several steps. Use your hand to blot (you may prefer to wear protective gloves to do this), dispose of soiled towels, then wash your hands thoroughly.
  4. Sweep floor thoroughly with a broom to remove any loose debris and dirt. Scrape to remove any carpet adhesive or other residue from the surface.
